Renee Heckler, Christian Ed Director
Renee has been employed in the Early Childhood field since 1993 after receiving her BS degree from California University of Pa. and The Director’s Credential from Northampton University. She has had various roles such as Program Coordinator, Regional Trainer, Team Leader, Mentor, and Center Director. In addition, she has been active as a Sunday School and Junior Church Teacher, Parent Committee Coordinator, member of various church committees, and a member of the choir. Renee is truly excited about her journey here at Grace and the opportunity to serve the children and the families of the church and the surrounding communities.
Sherry Hixenbaugh, Preschool Teacher
Miss Sherry is our Preschool Teacher. She graduated from Point Park University in 2013 with an early childhood education degree. She has been working with Grace Christian Education Center since its opening in 2018. Prior to working for Grace Christian she worked for KinderCare Learning Center for five years as their preschool teacher. Miss Sherry is a mother to her son Domanic and has a dog named Layla. She likes to read, listen to music and watch movies in her free time. Miss Sherry loves teaching and hopes to teach your children in the future.
Katie Gosney, Pre-Kindergarten Teacher
Miss Katie is our Pre-Kindergarten teacher. She has been married to her husband Jim since 2011 and is a mother of two boys, Connor and Cole. She attended California University, focusing on Education and Spanish. She graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish. She returned and completed some Master's level coursework in Community/Agency Counseling. Katie has worked in a variety of fields, but now, she has found her true calling - working with children at Grace Christian Education Center. She continues to further her education to better serve our preschoolers towards her Child Development Associate. In her spare time, Katie enjoys being outdoors with her family - camping, hiking, and fishing. She also plays a few instruments, crochets, sews, and enjoys doing crafts.
Jenna Hermann, Kindergarten Teacher
Miss Jenna is our Kindergarten Teacher here at Grace Christian Education Center. Jenna attended Slippery Rock University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and is certified to teach children PK – 6th grade. While in college she not only grew in her academics but also in her faith through her service as a youth pastoral intern for 4 years in Grove City. It was in college Jenna heard God’s call to not only pursue her career in teaching His children but also sharing His love for His children. As for her experience in education she has worked in the preschool setting since 2015 and has experience working in an autistic support classroom at Mohawk Elementary. In her spare time, you can find Jenna outside boating, hiking, playing sports; you may also find Jenna inside cooking, playing music, painting or reading.
Audrey Huddleston, 1st and 2nd Grade Teacher
Miss Audrey is our First and Second Grade Teacher here at Grace Christian Education Center. Audrey attended Slippery Rock University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and is certified to teach children PK – 6th grade. It was in college Audrey found her love for serving God’s Kingdom by teaching His children. As for her experience in education she worked in our Kindergarten classroom and Before/After School classroom here at GCEC. She has also worked in Title 1 reading and math services at Ellwood City Primary and has experience working in an autistic support classroom at Mohawk Elementary. In her spare time, Audrey enjoys exploring the outdoors kayaking, hiking, and taking photos. She also enjoys painting, baking, and reading.
